Ensure your class reaches the widest possible audience by optimizing it for discovery and downloads. A few small details can go a long way in making sure that users find your Templates on Modeloe and are keen to download. Here are our best practices for class merchandising:
Decide what you want to design and upload. You probably have an idea of what you want to design, and now it's time to get really specific. Think about how you want to differentiate your template. Specialized templates shine in our marketplace, and we encourage you to choose one with a specific audience in mind, rather than going too broad.
Complete your Instructor Bio on your profile page so that users know more about you, making sure to highlight why you are an expert who users will like to download from.
Craft your purpose and use of this template - This will help you identify who your target audience is, and what you want them to gain by using your template. Getting your template right will go a long way in helping you achieve the structure and design you want.
Category - Select the template “category” and "sub category" that best relates to your template. This will ensure that users who are interested in your template will discover it when browsing or searching on Modeloe
Template title - A great template title is clear and straightforward but yet descriptive e.g. Instead of "Business plan" try "Business plan for a Managed services", while also specifically explain what users will learn, create, or gain from downloading your template. Your goal is to help both users and search engines understand exactly what your template is about.” Remember, specificity is key for making sure your template appear in user’s searches. :
Cover Image - Together with your class title, your cover image should provide a clear depiction of your template. Choose a high-quality, visually-compelling image that will help your template stand out in our listings. To add your class cover image, head to the Template Thumbnail section of the "Add Template" screen, and select what image you want to use. We recommend making your cover image 260x165.
Your template description should give users a quick understanding of the functionality of your template. The first 3 sentences of your template description are also what will most likely show up in a Google search or social description. So, consider adding key information but keep it clear and concise so that users immediately know what the template is about.
Ensure you have Installation instructions for your templates. This step is to help you get more detailed about the contents of the templates, how it will be used and clear explanation to the users about operating systems; formats etc., and break it down into individual sections that include all these features.
Template Features - This field allows for you to explain the core functionality of your template with information such as some of the functionality, the tabs in the template (if it’s an excel document) where it can be used and by who. Ensure you have Installation instructions for your templates. This step is to help you get more detailed about the contents of the templates, how it will be used and clear explanation to the users about operating systems; formats etc., and break it down into individual sections that include all these features.
Keywords – Theses are words you can put in that when your template is searched on Modeloe it will come up for your intended target audience for example, “project Risk log” would have the following keywords associated with it. Project, Risk, Log, Excel (if created in excel)
